Legacy at Wakefield Apartments

Place was fine for the first 5 years. The old property manager (Shelley) actually responded to emails I sent and there was hardly ever issues with trash being left outside. I never had issues with bugs. Now people leave trash outside their doors constantly. It’s like they’ve been offered valet trash service while others haven’t. And as a result roaches are starting to pop up. I randomly was sent a survey about living here and expressed my concerns about the trash being left out and Amanda responded to the survey saying she’s seen it too and was going to send out communication on it…. B.S.!!! She never sent out anything. She clearly just wanted to look good for the survey. I followed up and sent pictures of people on my hall leaving trash out and she had Bonnie respond to my email and address it with the offenders…. It helped that ONE time but they are right back doing it. I sent Amanda another email and no response from her. I also previously sent her an email about my lease which she she didn’t respond to. I had to go to the office to get answers. I had my lease dates mixed up but the least she could’ve done was respond. I will not be renewing if she remains the community manager. She won’t even answer a resident of 6 years email or address trash issues. Way to show you value long term residents.

Several years of living here has not changed much, except the bill. This is not a long term home solution. Going into my 5th year, I originally paid around $1,200+ per month, but now I'm paying close to $1,400 per month for a 1 bedroom apt. Sure it has been comfortable, but noisy neighbors, especially those with garages, and have a workshop in the garage that you live above. No new conveniences have been provided me but I'm paying more to live in the same apt. Time to move.

Legacy at Wakefield is a really nice place. Equally as important, the staff are nice, too. I haven't lived in an apartment per se previously, but moving from Phoenix to Raleigh, I needed a temporary place to call home while I look for my next house. It's like anything else, though, in that no situation is flawless, but it's how the folks you engage with deal with challenges that makes all the difference. The staff here are friendly, but also they very quickly get to know you and pick up on who you are and how they can help you. Working from home (as many of us do now) the views out my windows are beautiful. Having a car care facility onsite is really helpful, too. Finally, simultaneously being so close to everything and yet feeling like I'm at my own retreat in the woods is a pretty cool gig they have figured out here.
